Condition

In overall good condition with minor surface dirt and a few scratches visible in some places consistent with age and handling. The gilding with some minor oxidation visble in some places. His proper right hand was cast separatly in the round and screwed in the back. Four small fixing holes are visible - two on the bunches of flowers on the right and two others on the left. Very desirable piece.

Marc-Pierre de Voyer de Paulmy was briefly appointed Lieutenant General of Police in 1720 and again from 1722 to 1724. According to the inscription engraved on this medallion, it could date from this period.
