The painting has a recent relining which is stable. The paint surface has been generally well preserved and there is lovely detail in the fruit and guinea pigs. There is some slight thinness in the dark background at upper left and in a small area of the grapes at center, but this is not overly distracting, Under UV light: only a few minor, cosmetic retouches can be seen in background, fruit and guinea pigs. These have been well applied and the painting can be hung as is. Offered in a carved and gilt wood frame with some minor nicks.
