Unexamined out of the frame. The board appears to be sound. There are a number of extremely tiny nicks to the lower, left and right edges, most noticeable at the lower right corner. There are a number of very small scuffs to the paint surface throughout, most noticeable towards the lower edge and in the centre of the blue pigment, with some further small scuffs towards the right edge of the board. There appears to be some repainting around the white border area which may be in line with artist's execution. There appears to be some unevenness within the dark blue pigment; this appears to be in keeping with the artist's technique and medium. There is a single pinhead sized, old rub towards the centre of the lower edge of the blue. There is some surface dirt and a number of instances of minor studio matter throughout. Subject to the above, the work appears to be in overall very good condition. Inspection under Ultra-violet light reveals evidence of the aforementioned overpaint by the artist around the white border edges. The central area of the composition is in good overall condition. There is one tiny area of fluorescence towards the centre of the lower edge. The work is held behind glass in a simple wooden frame.
