Sugata [configuration]: A wide mihaba, shallow tori-zori, shinogi-zukuri, o-kissaki Kitae [forging pattern]: Muji hada, possibly ko-itame Hamon [tempering pattern]: Notare-midare in nie Boshi [tip]: Midare-komi with long kaeri Nakago [tang]: Ubu nakago with one menuki-ana and suji-jigai yasurime, signed on omote Noshu Ju Fujiwara Nagasada and dated on the ura Ansei Yon nen Ni Gatsu Kichi-Nichi (1857) Nagasa [length from kissaki to machi]: 72.8 cm, 28 2/3  in.Saki-haba [width at the yokote]: 2.7 cm, 1 1/16  in.Moto-haba [width at the machi]: 3.3 cm, 1 3/10  in. In shingunto customised mounts with silver mon on the kabuto-gane. Accompanied by a certificate of registration as Tokubetsu Hozon Token [Sword Worthy of Preserving] no. 27201505 issued by the Nihon Bijitsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword].

Condition

The blade is somewhat rubbed overall, especially in the shinogi-ji. There is a small chip at the tip of the kissaki. The shin-gunto koshirae is custom made for this blade and in used condition.
