Sugata [configuration]: Hon-zukuri, tori-zori and chu-kissaki, iori-mune and bo-hi on both sides Kitae [forging pattern]: Ko-mokume hada, becoming itame in places Hamon [tempering pattern]: A wide notare-midare in nie, with sunagaeshi and wide nioiguchi Boshi [tip]: Ko-maru with much hakikake, almost kaen-boshi Nakago [tang]: O-suriage with 3 mekugi-ana, kuri-jiri and machi-okuri, mumei In shirasaya [plain wood scabbard] Nagasa [length from kissaki to machi]: 64.8 cm, 25 1/2 in.Saki-haba [width at the yokote]: 2 cm, 1 2/11 in.Moto-haba [width at the machi]: 3 cm, 1 1/4 in. Accompanied by a certificate of registration as Juyo Token [Important Sword], no. 12200046 issued by the Nihon Bijitsu Token Hozon Kyokai [Society for the Preservation of the Japanese Art Sword], dated Heisei 12 (2000).
Condition
In a modern shira-saya (with saya-gaki) presumably after recent polish and submission to Juyo shinsa. All details of hamon and jihada and especially the interesting boshi are quite clear and distinct.
