Condition
The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals a spot of retouching to the blue pigment within the upper right quadrant (approx. 1cm long) and some further flecks of retouching within the lower right quadrant, the largest of which is approx 1cm. long and which appears to correspond to a repaired tear. There are some pigment losses to the extreme right and left edges (not visible when framed). There is some pigment shrinkage visible in places, in particular to the black pigment of the sitter's hair. This work is in overall good condition.
