The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals some areas of retouching towards the right edge, in particular to the centre of the right edge. The signature and date at lower right were added later by another hand. There is a vertical line of pigment loss approx. 10cm long running upwards from the right part of the lower edge and another vertical line of pigment loss approx. 6cm long running downwards from the right part of the upper edge. There are some further flecks of pigment loss in places, in particular to the extreme edges. There is some craquelure and some pigment shrinkage visible. This work is in overall fairly good condition.
