Condition

The illustration of the catalogue is accurate. As stated in the catalogue, the cabinet is partly late 16th/early 17th century. There are the inevitable dents, marks and scratches due to age and use. The front and lateral panels had been partly redecorated. There are some minor chips to the panels revealing the white gesso underneath. There are some vertical construction cracks to the upper lateral right panel and to the upper front panels. There are old woodworm traces. The back panels are later. The upper left hand side bust-shaped handle is slightly loose. The inside had been upholstered later with a red velvet. The velvet is in good overall condition with minute wears and tears. Elegant ornaments and very decorative cabinet.
