Condition
In overall good condition with wear to the patina and surface dirt at several places, particularly in the crevices, consistent with age and handling. There is some wear to the thick dark brown patina at several places, particularly to the tail and high points. Minor chips are visible along the edges of the wooden base, consistent with age and handling.

This subject was formerly attributed to the Master of the Genre Figures and is now associated with the corpus of small animal bronzes by Prieur described in the inventory after his death. A bronze of the same model was sold by Sotheby 's Paris on 17 June 2015, lot 181 (€ 22,500).
