Condition
The medallion is in overall good condition with a few minor lacks to the borders, in particular to the top center and lower left edge. A few minor scratches to the surface and overall minor wear to the varnish consistent with age and handling. The golden brass frame with some minor oxidation. Very nice enamel.

The range of colors used in the present enamel and the delicate drawing of the faces with high foreheads, are caracteristic of the Limoges productions circa 1500. The Gothic arcade in the background is typical of the Master of the Orléans Tryptich and the workshop of Nardon Pénicaud and Jean I Pénicaud, see for exemple his Pietà in the Louvre museum (inv. no.
