Condition

Overall in very good condition. The pewter surfaces with very minor fine surface scratches and tarnish consistent with age and gentle handling. The abalone inlay is richly variegated with a wide saturated spectrum of chromatic hues. The recessed areas with traces of polished residue. The upper rear proper left panel with a hairline scratch measuring approximately ¾ of an inch. The rear proper lower edge with minor rubbing. Lower edge of access panel opening with two minor nicks, not visually distracting. Rear access door catches slightly. The center of the minute hand near the mounting pin shows area of rubbing visible in catalogue Illustration. Functionality of the movement is not guaranteed and it could need service at the buyer's discretion. A very rare work in a proto-modernist rectilinear form with restrained and finely modeled details. It is the larger version to lot 166.
