Condition

Overall very good condition. When viewed firsthand the geometric tiles present with a strong emerald green coloration which is beautifully complemented by the naturalistic irregularity of the turtle-back border. The turtle-back tiles all appear to be original and undisturbed. When viewed with internal remitted light the turtle-back tiles display a rich emerald green glow; when viewed with outside reflected light the iridized tiles display a brilliant range of jewel-tone hues and luminous iridescence. The glass with some very light and minor surface soiling to the glass concentrated to the upper shoulder of the shade. The patinated bronze elements present with some scattered extremely minor surface scratches, some extremely minor areas of wear, and some light surface soiling to the recessed portions. With the original chain, hook, and ceiling canopy all in very good condition. With period sockets. An exemplary and rare example from the firm’s turtle-back series displaying refined proportions and a superb glass selection in excellent original condition.
