A JEWELLED GOLD AND HARDSTONE ETUI, ENGLISH, CIRCA 1765

Of quiver form, each side set  with agate panels with mossy inclusions within chased scrolls and flowers embellished with rows of rose diamonds, on a matted ground,  the interior with gold and metal implements, some later, comprising a pair of scissors, a spoon, a chased folding knife, a pen, tweezers and a scraper, the lid with later green velvet lining, on a chased suspension loop, Paris 3ème titre for 1809-1819.

Overall crisp condition. The agate panel on the top of the lid split due to the mounting of the suspension loop. The ivory slips now missing from the interior. The pencil holder slightly squashed, the green velvet lining partly unglued.
