Condition
This work is in very good condition overall. The surface appears sound and stable. There are surface texture and tonal variations to the plaster which are consistent with the artist's choice of medium and working method. The surface of the plaster figure and wicker chair show evidence of minor surface soiling and dust accumulation. Under close inspection, there are a few unobtrusive, scattered surface accretions.

"I deal primarily with mystery and in the presentation of mystery. If I cast someone in plaster, it is the mystery of a human being that is presented. If I put him next to an object, it also raises a question about the nature of that object." George Segal
