Arabic manuscript on polished paper, 134 leaves plus 2 fly leaves, 19 lines to the page, written in black naskh script, titles and important words in bolder red, in later brown leather binding

Condition

In good condition, the margins have been trimmed and are overall clean, with occasional commentaries in black, minor stains and rubbing, minor restoration to the paper, affecting mainly the borders, as viewed.

Chapter II: on health derived from food, drink and sleep
Chapter III: on the origin of this medicine
Chapter IV: generally on health and its importance
Chapter V: on recovery and healing
Chapter VI: on the spiritual benefits of visiting the ills and the virtue of assisting them
Chapter VII: a record of the forty Hadith which mentions health
Chapter VIII: on the advantages and disadvantages of treating a disease
Chapter IX: on diet and its importance
Chapter X: on the strength of medicine and its benefits.

The name of the author is recorded in the title page, f.1a. His work is recorded in the Encyclopaedia of Prophetic Medicine (2007, ISBN 9953-81-229-2, p.119) and he died in 720 AD, making this the earliest copy recorded.
