Intact, with hairline cracks to surface and in glaze, the rim with some abrasion and minor chips, the foot with a small chip, some iridescence, as viewed.

This stark aesthetic was particularly popular and a number of similar examples are now in museum and private collections such the Keir Collection, London (E. Grube, Islamic Pottery of the Eighth to the Fifteenth Century in the Keir Collection, London, 1976, p.179, nos. 125 and 126).
