Osvaldo Borsani, 1973

"When we used the word ‘design’ we did so with profound respect because it was a new way of thinking and constructing: it was a word used only by us specialists as we tried, all the while working from within a difficult and unresponsive context, to explain, introduce and disseminate our methods of design when applied to industry. Now we no longer use this word. It is used so deliberately and inappropriately and become so vulgarised that we regard it with suspicion. We are not prepared to work in explanations and acquisitions, rather we are constantly searching for new methods and to label new discoveries we need new words".
