Condition
It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. The canvas is not lined and is slightly loose and undulating. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating. However, examination under UV light appears to reveal a few small dots of retouching along the extreme edges, notably to the centre of the left edge and to the upper edge. There is an additional small dot of retouching in the lower right quadrant (approx. 12 cm from lower edge and 5 cm from right edge). There is some minor frame rubbing along the extreme edges and a Slightly inward concave bent to the lower right corner. This work is in good condition and could benefit from a slight re-strecthing.

拍品資料及來源
The present work, a visual retelling of an ancient legend, was given its title by Joan Brossa and alludes to one of his theatrical works. Deceptively naïve in its appearance, the painting is structured like a medieval Romanesque painting with a hierarchy of planes: the unmanned barge, navigating between unknown worlds. Set against a theatrical backdrop of flattened, other-wordly figures in a moonlit landscape, and crowned by an unidentifiable arched space, the scene conjures a sanctuary of brightly illuminated and enigmatic forms relating perhaps to an alchemy.
