Condition

The panel is sound. There is a milky varnish preventing UV light from fully penetrating, however examination under UV light appears to reveal a vertical line of retouching (approx. 5 cm long) above the figure's head, a few horizontal lines of retouching to the lower right quadrant, a few further small dots of retouching in places and some small dots and lines of retouching along the extreme edges. Close inspection reveals three small paint losses to the upper part of the right edge and a few further smaller flecks of paint losses in places, notably to the woman's chest. There is some minor frame rubbing along the extreme edges. This work is in overall good condition.
