Condition
Overall in very good condition. The vellum with fine craquelure throughout, and also with some surface scratches, minor indentations, and gentle wear throughout, all consistent with age and gentle use. The vellum has been sensitively and professionally restored in some areas where there was previous rubbing and wear, not visually distracting. The upper proper left back corner of one chair with slightly more prominent wear and minor separation to the vellum that has been sensitively and professionally restored; the same vertical edge to this corner with a slightly more prominent abrasion measuring approximately 1 3/8 inch in length. A few of the vellum corners and edges with some minor abrasions and wear exposing the underlying wood. The cushions have been reupholstered with the monogram RDK and present in good and clean condition, with a few very minor spots of discoloration. The two cushions with one and two instances respectively of discolored adhesive residue, the largest measuring approximately 1 x 2 ½ inches. A stylish and comfortable pair of low chairs with excellent provenance from the Hollywood estate of Edie Goetz, likely having furnished her dressing room.
