Condition

Overall good condition consistent with age and use. The chairs retain their original leather upholstery which presents with craquelure, wear, scattered discoloration, flaking, and scattered traces of water damage throughout. In some instances the piping is loose or small segments are lost on both chairs. One chair with an area of water damage fo the proper left bottom corner measuring approximately 3 x 3 inches, and another water stain on the propr right armrest and proper right side of the chair. The same chair with a small tear and separation to the seam on the outer edge of the juncture of the proper left armrest and backrest. With a small tear on the lateral vertical surface of the backrest measuring approximately 2 inches high which has been previously stabilized. The top of the backrest with a small tear measuring approximately 2 1/2 inches long. The other armchair with some seam separation to the outer edge of the juncture of the proper right armrest and backrest and to the same point on the proper left side. The proper left side with a small diagonal tear measuring approximately 3 inches long which has been previously stabilized. The same armchair with some seem separation to the bottom of the vertical seam on the proper right back edge. The feet of both chairs appear to be later replacements and present with scattered minor surface scratches and abrasions, with one foot with remnants of an old paper label. A chic and iconic form by Jean-Michel Frank.
