Condition
The canvas has not been lined. A joining line between two canvases is visible on the reverse in the lower half of the composition. A horizontal line of fine craquelure, corresponding to the aforementioned joint, is visible across the lower half of the composition. There are some isolated, pin-head sized spots of flaking close to the centre of the lower edge, as visible in the catalogue illustration. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals a small spot of retouching (patched on the reverse) in the pink background in the centre of the right framing edge, possibly addressing a small tear. Although another very small patch is also visible on the reverse, UV light reveals no further sign of retouching. This work is in overall good condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a simple wooden frame.
