Aimé Napoléon Perrey, father and mentor of French sculptor Léon Auguste Perrey, debuted at the Salon of 1848 and won the prize in 1868. He is widely recognized for his marble sculpture of Saint Eugène in the church of Saint Eugène, and for his stone sculpture of Saint Sigismond Roi de Bourgogne for the church of Sainte-Clotilde in Paris. This elegant lifesize figure of a youth, with its pronounced contrapposto stance shows the sculptor's affinity with Neoclassicism.   RELATED LITERATURE
