worked to depict an immortal and a young boy by his side, the bearded figure of the immortal rendered stroking his beard with one hand and holding a branch suspending a double gourd in the other, the young boy portrayed holding a basket and a double ring, the group fixed to a wood stand

The group is in overall good condition. There is a tiny bruise to the immortal's right eyelid and minute nicks to the edges, including the boy's finger and nose. Small sections also appear to be lightly polished to conceal an earlier nicks, including the immortal's sleeve. The actual colour of the stone is of a slightly more celadon tone than the catalogue illustration.
