the lip-edged top of standard mitre, mortise, and tenon construction framing a single-board, floating panel tongue-and-grooved into the mitred frame and supported by two dove-tailed transverse stretchers underneath, both with exposed tenons, the edge of the frame moulding downward and forming a concave groove in the middle, ending in a beaded edge, the extremely high recessed waist accommodating a drawer in front, the two sides and back tongue-and-grooved to the frame top and the exposed upper portion of the beautifully shaped cabriole legs with curvilinear, beaded-edged aprons half-lapped, mortised and tennoned to them, the drawer with a huangtong plate and pull

Condition
Good overall condition with just typical insignificant bruising and surface wear. There are areas of shrinkage and age cracks, especially to the inner drawer.

炕桌為典型明朝家具桌型之一，適用於席地而坐時或用於炕上。炕為用磚製成的臺座，下面空洞，可以燒火取暖。
傳世品中大炕桌頗多，但小型如現例就較為罕見。小型炕桌除了適用於炕上外，亦可置於榻、羅漢床及架子床上。
帶攔水線桌面標準格角榫攢邊平鑲獨板面心，下裝二根穿帶出梢支承。抹頭可見明榫。邊抹冰盤沿向下內縮中部成窪形至底壓窄平線。特高束腰設計為前方留位，裝入抽屜。兩側及後方嵌入如小方柱的外露腿足上截與桌面下的槽口，直碰在起線壺門輪廓的牙條上。牙條以榫卯與三彎腿足接合，抽屜面安黃銅面頁與提環。
