Please note that the shadows on the upper and lower edges of the painting are not visible to the naked eye. Please contact the department for clearer images. The panel consists of a single board that is uncradled, stable, and beveled on all edges. There is a crack on the reverse of the panel, though this does not seem to affect the appearance of the panel on the front. It presents a decorative image with a lot of details. There is a minor scratch at top right of the panel that is barely noticeable. There are a few scuff marks along the center right edge that run vertically. There is some slight thinning of the paint on the dark brown colors. Some retouches are here and there, like for example on the white cap the woman wears and the blue shirt of the man in center. Inspection under UV shows some further retouching on the ledge at top center and the wood at top left, although further reading is impeded due to the varnish. The painting is offered in a dark ebonized wood frame.
