霍剛旅歐時期也接受了「龐圖運動」的影響，點為萬象之始，也為萬象之終，此與霍剛的東方哲學精神不謀而合。1968年創作的《無題》（拍品編號5065）為霍剛到米蘭時，延續超現實探索的早期作品，但輪廓線條開始趨向理性幾何抽象，構圖充滿超現實風格的神秘感。霍剛在很短的時間內，即形成了他特有的風格，不斷的延展及深化，看似少有變化卻又不重複，作品《開展之34》（拍品編號5066）與《無題》（拍品編號5067)熟練的展現其平塗的手法，色彩的搭配加上幾何圖形式的畫面分割，營造出一種看似設計性，其實蘊含東方人文及哲學想的創作，東方陰、陽空間的觀照，充滿靜觀禪意的特質開創專屬霍剛式的極簡抽象語彙。
