迷幻的藍色鑽石，那一抹藍，宛如靜謐的蒼穹，宛如深邃的海洋，被認為是世界上所有有色鑽石中，最珍奇的顏色。印度的戈爾康達地區，曾出產過不少舉世聞名的美鑽，因而聞名於世。富有傳奇色彩的藍鑽，包括重達45.52卡拉、神秘莫測的「希望之石」（Hope Diamond）都極可能出自這個充滿神秘色彩的古老王國。只是時光荏苒，戈爾康達的鑽石礦早已耗盡，時至今日，藍鑽的產出依然屈指可數。

GIA的統計中曾指出：經GIA鑒定的彩色鑽石裡，只有0.3%為藍鑽，而重量能達一卡拉以上的，更是僅占所有藍鑽中的10%，足以證明藍鑽的珍稀程度。故這一抹深邃憂鬱的藍，無疑是最受藏家追捧的亮色。在2015年11月，重達12.03卡拉枕形艷彩藍鑽「約瑟芬的藍月」在日內瓦蘇富比以傲人成績落錘，其每卡拉400萬美元的驚人高價，再一次刷新了藍鑽拍賣的紀錄。

藍色鑽石中的藍色是來源於晶體結構中微量的硼元素，在鑽石類別中屬於Type IIb。不同于白鑽，Type IIb的藍鑽在碳原子結構上並非完全對稱，致使切割過程中的每一步都極需縝密無疵。任何一個參數的錯誤估算，都可能導致整枚寶石毀於一旦，姿色全無。其中更以祖母綠形切割的藍鑽稀世罕有 ，因為採用如此簡潔的鑽石切割方式很難淋漓盡致地展現出鑽石的濃豔藍色。所以，這一枚重3.13克拉且內部無暇的濃彩藍鑽，以此簡單大氣的切割方式所呈現出其獨特的魅力，實屬來之不易，難得一見。
