each modeled seated in dhyanasana with hands folded together on the lap supporting the cintamani (wish-fulfilling jewel), wearing brightly enameled robes of yellow, red and turquoise draped into voluminous folds, the serene face with downcast eyes and framed by a pair of pendulous ears, wearing a polychrome five-leaf diadem with each leaf enclosing the Amitabha, all supported on a double-lotus base, wood stands (4)

Condition
One figure has restoration to the lower central lotus petal, the petal immediately to its left, and to the front two corners of the robe. There is also a glaze flake to one of the restored petal tips and a crack present in the front left robe corner. The other figure with three sections of restoration to the front of the robe and legs, the longest section wrapping around the figure's right knee and measuring approximately 7.5 cm wide. There is a crack in the top corner of the lotus throne below the aforementioned corner as well. Each figure has minor firing flaws including glaze pulls throughout, crazing to the glaze, and minor wear.

此兩尊地藏菩薩像，造型端重，工藝精湛，施粉彩，承藏傳佛像藝術傳統，著色豐富，彩色明豔。自粉彩創燒以來，藝匠得以巧製瓷像，佛像用色亦更見廣泛。然而，因其雕造複雜而又易損，兼燒製難度頗大，故此類佛像存世甚為珍罕。
此類造像可見於世界各地博物館及私人收藏，一近例屬山中定次郎珍藏，售於紐約蘇富比1944年6月14至16日，編號651。另有一例，售於德國納高拍賣行，2013年10月30日，編號48。

地藏菩薩，又稱大願地藏菩薩，幽冥教主地藏王，普渡六道眾生，地獄不空，誓不成佛；其早期遵照傳統菩薩造像，至宋代為和尚造型，以此像為例，身穿袈裟，手持如意寶珠；亦見其手執錫杖，警醒蟲獸走避，以免誤傷性命。因其造型又如《西遊記》中之玄奘法師，故易使觀者混淆誤認。
