明永樂 甜白釉暗刻輪花紋綬帶耳葫蘆扁壺

well modelled with a flattened spherical body with two domed side supported on an oval footring, surmounted by a waisted neck and small bulb-shaped mouth, flanked by a pair of elegantly arched strap handles extending from the upper neck to the narrow sides with lobed terminals, each main side incised with lotus blooms alternating with elongated petal lappets enclosing trefoil motifs, all radiating out from a central medallion encircling a striated border and yinyang symbol, surrounded by a chevron border along the edge, below a delicate floral scroll collaring the lower mouth, the lobed terminals of the handles similarly adorned with floral sprays, applied overall save for the unglazed footring with an unctuous 'sweet-white’ glaze

The moonflask is slightly leaned to one side, but otherwise it is in overall excellent condition with just some typical firing imperfections and occasional light surface scratches.

此永樂扁壺，器形優雅婉約，罩施白釉，溫潤如玉，誠永樂御瓷典範。綬帶雙耳扁壺，雖有繪飾青花一類，較為人熟知，然施白釉如斯者，更為罕稀，誠難得之品。

永樂一朝，奉成祖之命，景德鎮御窰巧匠精研甜白佳釉，專製單色雅瓷。然甜白之器，燒製極艱。景德鎮市珠山中路東段兩相鄰永樂地層，所出瓷片，逾98%乃甜白殘件，可見御窰屢敗屢試，無奈棄絕廢品無數，僅挑其中佳器寥寥，上供朝廷（詳見展覽圖錄《景德鎮珠山出土永樂宣德官窰瓷器展覽》，香港藝術館，香港，1989年，頁19）。

「甜白」一詞，相信最早見於明末黃一正萬曆十九年（1591年）萬曆十九年本《事物紺珠》，據〈永樂宣德窰〉條載：「二窰皆內府燒造，以騌眼甜白為常，以蘇麻離青為飾，以鮮紅為寶」，且有「白如凝脂，素猶積雪」之譽。承趙宋晶瑩青白、延蒙元樞府卵白，然永樂甜白，主要以釉石煉製，幾乎全無石灰石等疊燒而成釉灰，所含碳酸鈣比當時景德鎮其他白釉要低，加上白瓷高嶺土含量甚豐，僅有微量鐵和鈦，是以製得甜白雅器，白若瓊花。

相類暗花扁壺甚罕，紐約蘇富比曾售出一近例，2005年9月21/22日，編號63。另有扁壺，略較此品大，圖見 John Alexander Pope，《Chinese Porcelains from the Ardebil Shrine》，華盛頓，1956年，圖版55，編號29.458，1974年10月31日在香港蘇富比拍出，編號111，現為紐約亞洲協會藏品，收錄於 Denise Patry Leidy，《Treasures of Asian Art. The Asia Society’s Mr and Mrs John D. Rockefeller 3rd Collection》，紐約，1994年，圖版170。Severance and Greta Millikin 伉儷舊蓄一例，尺寸略小，現為克里夫蘭美術館所藏，收錄於該館展覽《The Severance and Greta Millikin Collection》，克里夫蘭，1990年，編號42。另有兩器，斷代宣德，其一現存北京故宮博物院，見《中國陶瓷全集》，卷13，上海，2000年，圖版13，另一為上海博物館所藏，刊於《中國美術全集．工藝美術編》，卷3，上海，1988年，圖版73。

器形、釉色相類，然獨缺暗花之扁壺，香港蘇富比曾拍出兩例，分別售於1983年5月11日，編號108及1996年11月5日，編號764。明代御窰遺址廢棄堆中出土一例，底無圈足，或屬永樂早期所製，見於展覽《景德鎮出土明初官窰瓷器》，鴻禧美術館，台北，1996年，編號91，圖錄中筆者指永樂晚期之例圈足呈橢圓（見頁244）。北京故宮博物院有藏數件白釉佳器，其中有一素紋扁壺，收錄於 John Addis 爵士，〈Hung Wu and Yung Lo White〉，《東方陶瓷學會彙刊》，1975-77年，彩圖版41，圖版30a，文中筆者提出，白釉刻花之器，約永樂十八年（1420年）始製，至二十二年（1424年）成祖崩殂方竭。

較常見之青花扁壺，例可見土耳其鄂圖曼蘇丹所蓄，圖見康蕊君，《Chinese Ceramics in the Topkapi Saray Museum, Istanbul》，倫敦，1986年，卷2，圖版616。上海博物館藏器，則曾展於《上海博物館所蔵青花磁器展：名品でたどる元、明、清時代の染め付け》，銀座松屋百貨，東京，1988 年，編號16。還有一例，先後入靜觀堂及黃鼎軒雅藏，展於《好古敏求－敏求精舍三十五週年紀念展》，香港藝術館，香港，1995 年，編號124，曾售於香港蘇富比1991 年10 月29 日，編號29，後兩次售於香港佳士得，分別為1996 年11 月3 日，編號545，以及2006 年11 月28 日，編號1512。有關此類扁壺之形飾源流，請參見本場拍賣中另一青花例，拍品編號3608。
