-Light foxing on the painting can be found on the painting. Oxidation of white paint can be found on the character on the right, which can be improved by restoration. A dent can be found at the feet of the character on the right. Otherwise, generally in fair to good condition.

上款：「韵琴」即丁文蔚（1827-1890），字藍叔，號豹卿，浙江蕭山人。工詩，善書畫，亦擅刻竹。有齋大碧山館，一時名士常與往還。後遊宦，嘗官福建長樂知縣，與趙撝叔友善。

註：丁藍叔與任氏同籍蕭山，兼以藝交，情誼甚篤。傳世畫迹所示，二人交往集中於任氏晚年。一八五二年，渭長製〈列仙酒牌〉四十八幀，藍叔為翻刻版寫序，乃研究任熊生平之重要資料。一八五六年，繪〈丁藍叔參軍三十歲小影〉，並為其治「豹卿」石印，乃任氏所治僅傳印。本幅即繪於同期。
