註：一九三四年入暑後，江南地區，高温少雨，破歷年氣象紀錄。熱浪籠罩下，赤地千里，河水乾涸，米價暴漲，民不聊生。各地積極祭神求雨，在上海，即由王一亭及當地仕紳發起，由道教張恩溥及佛教太虛法師等主持「全國祈雨消災大會」。本幅題跋中「祈雨旬日」即指此事，畫中所寫，正是久旱逢甘露，百花復沾滋潤，生機重現之景象。
