款識：
好學近乎智，力行近乎仁，知恥近乎勇，則可以治天下；
富貴不能淫，貧賤不能移，威武不能屈，此之謂大丈夫。
寒操先生工詩能文善書，今之佳士也。往歲余客江戶，郵書囑寫此聯，憶茲已二年矣，宿逋未了，此心慊然。今遇於漢皋，或有以先生之索為言者知己之感，因揮汗以報命，工拙在所不計也。
民國二十七年七月中浣。雙谿弟許世英集孔孟語寫於客舍。
鈐印：「許世英印」、「靜仁」。

-Light foxing at the bottom and creases can be found on the couplet, which can be improved by restoration. Otherwise, generally in fair to good condition.
