張家駒畢業於國立台南藝術大學雕塑系，他的《皮相系列》展現深刻難忘的人體姿態，強調生命的無常。他自2005年摒棄石雕創作，轉以木材為主要媒介，並沿著古老朽木的起伏紋理，以其雕刻功架盡展木材的天賦特質。從此拍品及2016年4月6日於蘇富比拍出的另一雕塑作品（編號2826），可見藝術家凸顯破洞表面的標誌手法，呈現脆弱的人體，感受肉身有限而短暫，人終有一死。張氏秉持人文傳統，極力探求自然意蘊，反映他對天然媒材的靈敏感觸，超越表相之見。
