《灯》是陳其寬以水光倒影為題的罕有畫作，也是他受抽象表現主義啟發的成熟畫風代表作。陳其寬的室內景物及風景畫為人熟知，展現一絲不苟的筆法及用色（拍品編號518及558），此作則利用滴畫技巧描繪陽光映照在水面上的波光粼粼，近似1950年代紐約抽象表現主義運動中前衛的行動繪畫手法。然而，陳氏與藉由行動表演展現人性的抽象表現主義藝術家不同，他藉著這種現代藝術手法創造出中國書畫的嶄新風格，為其畫作增添多重視感。
