西漢 玉穀紋環

of circular form, carved to both sides with the 'grain' pattern, the stone of a celadon colour with calcified areas

The pendant is in overall good condition with extensive calcification to one side. There are expected shallow nicks along the edges as consistent with age, the largest measuring approx. 0.3 cm. The catalogue illustration is slightly redder than the actual colour of the stone.

青玉，鈣化嚴重。雙面飾穀紋，顆粒飽滿，拋光圓潤。內外緣起廓有刃部。尺寸較小，又稱「系璧」，用以雜佩中的組成部分，或懸掛在腰帶上作為隨身裝飾物。同類型穀紋玉環可見廣州西漢南越王墓出土，錄《西漢南越王墓》，下冊，北京，1991年，圖版28:3。
