本作展示了哈林筆下貌似天真、卻又充滿力量的視覺象徵語彙。爬行中的嬰兒是哈林最膾炙人口的「簽名」或標誌，幾乎可以算是代表哈林的圖案。嬰兒的身體四周散發光芒，因而稱為「閃耀的嬰兒」，象徵青春的天真、純潔、善良及潛力。吠犬則重新演繹半人半豺的埃及神阿努比斯，仿傚古代以平面和直線行走的側面人像呈現故事中的人物角色。吠犬圖案反覆出現於哈林的作品，代表著專制政府、權力濫用、警察部隊及壓制政權；以曲線勾畫的瘦長人像在扭動身體，表現出興奮心情，藉此強調藝術家擁抱生命，盼望得到救贖。《無題》體現出哈林透過將物象簡化為基本元素表現動感的技法。
