金至元 墨白玉鏤空巧作雲龍紋飾

skilfully modelled in openwork to depict a white sinuous dragon soaring through a dense cluster of black ruyi clouds, the dynamic mythical beast well depicted with an uplifted head and an agape mouth, portrayed grasping a cloud scroll firmly in its claws

The plaque is in overall good condition with just minute bruises and nicks to the edges, with minor areas of polishing. There is also pitting to the reverse and a flaw to the stone at the top of the plaque.

墨白玉質，片狀，隨形透雕雲龍紋飾。白玉雕龍，墨玉巧雕如意雲。龍身體捲曲，毛髮後披，一爪緊握雲頭，似要放進張開的口中。背面光素無紋飾，留有琢痕，周邊有孔，可作珮飾，也可作嵌飾。

此器雕琢刀法渾厚，砣碾遒勁，紋飾密實緊湊，剛勁俊偉，形神兼備，似在表現一種精神力量，匠心獨運。
