The paperweight is in overall good condition. There are some typical minor nicks to the edges, the largest measuring approx. 1 cm to one end of the brush rest. There are also some natural flaws to the stone that have aggravated into tiny losses

Small jade brush rests worked in the form of naturally occuring, evocatively shaped limestone rocks, were popular scholars' objects.
