清嘉慶 吳廉旉「貢硃」彩墨 《大清嘉慶丙子年製》款

of rectangular section, one side carved in intaglio with two phrases in lishu reading shinian ru shi yidian ru qi ('after ten years it is still like a rock / one drop from it is like lacquer'), the reverse inscribed in kaishu in relief Jiangzuo Wu Lianfu zhuzuo zhi mo (‘ink made by Wu Lianfu from left of the river'), the side of the ink stick with a dated reign mark in relief and gongzhu ('tribute cinnabar-red')

It is in overall very good condition with only minor surface wear. There are traces of gilt remaining.
