superbly carved with deep rounded sides rising to a gently everted rim, supported on a neatly cut footring, the smoothly polished stone of even pale celadon-white colour with light occasional cloud inclusions

The bowl is in overall very good condition. There is some expected light original nibbling along the rim and edges.

明清律例限制玉器用途，白玉似為餐飲器皿之至高典範。文學小說甚少提及人物以玉盌、玉盃飲食，玉器地位崇高可見一斑。

參考一例，曾展於《玉緣．德安堂藏玉展》，故宮博物院，北京，2004年，編號116；Cunliffe 勛爵收藏一對例，尺寸略大，售於倫敦邦瀚斯2002年11月11日，編號10，後於香港蘇富比易手，2005年5月2日，編號555。另一對白玉作例曾售於香港佳士得2012年12月1日，編號3001。
