在現代科技與攝影器材的啟發下，蔡廣斌將文化潮流與視覺體驗結合在一起，以自己深愛的具象水墨畫作形式表現出來。蔡氏2001年遷居上海，自此開始關注中國城市的迅速變遷及其對市民生活的影響。《窗》系列是其最為知名的代表作品，大膽窺視無名市民的生活百態。蔡氏作品中常見縱橫交錯的窗櫺，提醒觀者此為透過窗子窺探不同人生場景。藝術家使用沒骨技法，以水墨展現自己對色調、光線與陰影的嫻熟把握。細看每幅作品均具有繪畫般的表達力，但又以逼真的現實主義手法捕捉人物熟睡、思考或是發呆的私密瞬間。
蔡廣斌現於上海中國畫院任畫師，並於東華師範大學任美術教授。他出生在中國東北部的黑龍江省，畢業於中國美術學院中國畫系人物專業。
藝術家自述
「生存環境的快速變化與人的思維角度的改變自然地產生統一的社會病疾，他是立體的空間充持形式，映入視覺便決定了人的生存命運甚至生命的始終。浮動於不可控制的傾斜是天數的樓宇與＂窗＂的羅列外在表現，而生命的茫從與＂自主＂的不可知狀態卻更為悲嘆！現實的＂墨色＂一樣的形式變換使《窗》的系列作品富有完全個人化的理念。
