知名當代藝術家王勁松生於哈爾濱，過去三十年來不斷探索水墨、油畫、裝置、攝影及影像藝術。王氏畢業於杭州浙江美術學院，早期的油畫作品是當時中國玩世現實主義與政治普普藝術運動中的代表作，然而其最為人熟知的還是水墨作品。王勁松於世界各地廣泛參與當代中國先鋒藝術展覽如「中國前衛藝術」、「藝術文化反潮流」（ 1993年）、「後八九中國新藝術」以及「由內向外：新中國藝術」（ 1998年）等。
