A native of Guangdong Province, Chan Ky-Yut began learning calligraphy and painting from his grandfather at age three. He pursued graduate studies in literature and classical Chinese—focusing on Daoism, Buddhism and Confucianism—which deeply influenced his artistic process. He later emigrated to Canada where he has established himself as a designer, poet and painter. His lyrical abstract works have been exhibited between Asia, Canada and Europe.
