1954年的《無題》(拍品編號1006)與《風》作於同年,為甲骨文時期少見的水彩作品。趙無極此時的油畫作品多以自然為題,其用色與構圖常與自然相關聯;畫面看來是抽象的,依據其所賦予的自然現象,如風雪、雷電、和陽光等,而產生一種近似聯覺之感。在觀看繪畫的同時,感受風的蕭瑟、雪之蒼茫、雷霆萬鈞、或豔陽之炙熱。在《無題》中,似是感受煙雨之迷濛。對趙無極而言,藍色是安詳的,而紫色卻是絕望的。藍與紫在交錯之間,產生一股適意而對比的節奏感。本著中國文化根源,趙無極追溯傳統文字之根源,提煉其中的宇宙觀與意境。於此,對自然的再現不需託付於形象的描繪,而成為參悟自然造化創造之妙的抽象表現。其所描繪的不再是風景,而是自然;畫中如同象形文字之線條,可視為充塞其中的生命,因而使其繪畫近似於自然中的道之化現。在《無題》不可名狀的細雨之中,趙無極所言說與指涉的意涵,已然超越了一切具體形象所能描繪,而為觀者帶來更為豐富的想像。
