我出生在廣東梅江邊上的一個山村裡，當我六歲開始學畫後，就有熱烈的願望，想將我看到的感受到的東西表達出來。後來在歐洲留學的年代裡，在四處奔波的戰亂中，仍不時回憶起家鄉的片片浮雲、清清的小溪、遠遠的松樹和屋旁的翠竹。我感到萬物在生長，在顫動。當然，我一生所追求的不單單是童年的夢想，不單單是青年時代理想的實現。記得很久以前，傅雷先生說我對藝術的追求又如當年我祖父雕刻石頭的精神。現在，我已經活到我祖父的年歲了，雖不敢說像他一樣的勤勞，但也未從無故放下畫筆。經過豐富的人生經歷後，希望能以我的真誠，用我的畫筆，永遠描寫出我的感受。
