Condition
The tones in the catalogue’s illustration are in line with the original. The pastel is framed in an English, 18th century frame, possibly original. The verso is however not original. The pastel is enclosed by a small, modern wooden board and hasn’t been opened. It retains small traces of losses of pigment, especially in the upper part. Very light traces of water stains to the right and the top edges. The pastel has very light, horizontal lines that go from side to side, especially above the figure’s head, that have probably been retouched. A tiny folding on the right edge, between the centre and the top edge, quite insignificant.
