Condition

The photograph of the carpet is upside down, so the top with regard to the technique of production is actually the bottom of the photograph. Measurements: approximately 113cm across the top, 117cm across the bottom, 517cm along the left, 519cm along the right side Pile is generally 1-2mm and down to knotheads in areas and foundation is some areas, for example dark ground in the lower section of main field. The lower border has been cut and joined, and the joins are visible horizontally in the lower corners. In the lower left corner there is a split, approximately 12cm. which is open in two sections, vertically. This can be repaired. There is a repaired horizontal split in the main field, in the lower section, from right edge of field, with minor stitches, and it does not extend across the whole field. There is another minor repaired old tear just above the previously mentioned repair, which is higher up and only in the right border. There are a couple of minor reweaves in the upper and lower end guards. Overlocking (blanket stitch) is only in sections along the ends and needs attention, to avoid further loss at ends. There are some slivers of old fold lines along the left side up the left border, which have some low pile down to foundation. Some minor tears and losses along top edge. These areas of repair, are only noticeable on close inspection and the carpet is very attractive in design, colour and is a versatile size. Detailed photographs are available from the office.
