此作附有小柳畫廊頒發並簽署之認證書，確認《Joe》攝影系列附原裝相框，並由杉本博司特別設計。

杉本博司的黑白銀鹽相片獨樹一幟，捕捉空靈飄渺的時刻，顯出瞬間及永恆之間的矛盾。他於2003年遠赴美國密蘇里州聖路易斯，拍攝普立茲克建築獎得主安藤忠雄設計的普立茲克藝術基金會大樓。基金會庭院屹立著理查·塞拉為已故小·約瑟夫·普立茲克致敬而作的螺旋形雕塑《Joe》，使杉本為之著迷。他曾在訪談中驚嘆道：「這件雕塑真是精湛美妙，其尺寸雖小，卻在咫尺間展現迥異面貌。我可輕易為此作拍攝百幅不同的照片。」他以散焦鏡頭營造模糊影像，捕捉《Joe》在大樓與遼闊天空下傾斜橢圓形貌的精髓。「雕塑看來比建築物更具建築感，那麼它們又有何分別？¹」杉本次年與美國小說家喬納森·薩弗蘭·福爾合作出版《Joe》攝影系列，當中伴以福爾的詩作，講述主角Joe經歷的時光循環，呼應杉本攝影作品（見拍品編號2825及2904）與塞拉雕塑的視覺語彙。
