Condition
Please note that the movement has not been checked for timekeeping accuracy and Sotheby's will not be held responsible for any repairs should they be require.
Movement working at the time of cataloguing and chronograph functioning and would benefit from a service. Dial and hands no longer glowing, some marks and scuff to the centre of the dial, at 3 and 7. Crown signed. Case with the usual scuffs and scratches throughout due to age and use, some more important to the back, polished as expected with a vintage piece.
Very attractive piece

This watch was named after the wife of the racing driver Jochen Rindt who used to wear it.
With its panda dial, black bezel and a movement based on the Valjoux 72, this watch has many strong common points with the celebrated Rolex Daytona and is considered by collectors amongst the best vintage sport chronographs.
The present watch is from the first series distinguished by the applied logo at 12 and tapered hands.
The second series has a painted logo in a rectangle and larger hands.
